Mary Anne Attwell Hartye, Ph. D. has been working with children, adolescents, parents and individual adults since 1974. Her career has been focused on understanding children, adolescents and parenting. She has worked extensively in this specialty area in both group and individual settings. Dr. Hartye has specific interests in AD/HD throughout the lifespan, learning disabilities, social skills, emotional intelligence, grief and loss and the gifts and challenges of parenting. Dr. Hartye is also a certified spiritual counselor for those wishing to include this on their journey.
Treatment Philosophy
Theoretically, Dr. Hartye draws from research on child and adolescent development, family systems approaches and cognitive behavioral treatment. She believes that we are each doing the best job possible and that change comes easily with increased knowledge and guidance. Having three children of her own drives her philosophy of being practical and realistic yet still having fun.
