Lisa Caprioli, LCSW, has been working as a psychotherapist since 2005. She works with adults experiencing symptoms of anxiety, grief and loss, difficulty adjusting to life transitions, and perinatal mood disorders including postpartum anxiety and depression. Lisa has had experience and training supporting the LGBT community and is an LGBT affirming therapist. She especially enjoys helping individuals learn to say no, set boundaries and be more assertive. Prior to becoming a therapist, Lisa worked with Wake County Human services in a school readiness and parenting program. She has a love of helping parents with children of all ages learn to set limits while exploring their identity both as a parent and in their personal and work lives.

Treatment Philosophy

Lisa uses a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, practical advice and humor. She works with her clients to establish long term and short term goals, giving small, manageable assignments each week that lead to bigger changes in the long term.
